Bush Administration Budget Requests: Energy
President Bush's 2008 federal budget includes requests of $9 billion in loan guarantees for alternative energy projects and $2.7 billion to fund research into advanced technologies for the electrical and auto sectors. President Bush will also ask Congress for $405 million to fund the Global Nuclear Energy Partnership, which aims to recycle spent nuclear fuel. The $405 million is part of the $2.7 billion advanced technology request.
