President Bush Visits Southern California Wildfire Area
President Bush toured the devastation in Southern California where he had already declared the situation a federal disaster, making the state eligible for federal assistance. He joined Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Senator Diane Feinstein for the tour of the fire disaster area. This situation is in stark contrast to the enmity between Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco, who created the delay in the federal response to the Katrina disaster. President Bush praised Gov Schwarzenegger for his quick response and organized approach to the disaster.
And to think that Gov Schwarzenegger sued the Bush Administration this week over the federal governments delay in approving California's greenhouse gas regulations.
